Caribbean Weddings, Caribbean Honeymoons

The Caribbean is one of the more popular destinations for honeymoons. The laid back style, all-inclusive resorts and inviting beaches appeal to many newlyweds. The Caribbean also offers a variety of options that cater to different budgets.

While all-inclusive resorts may seem like an easy thing to book yourself, each offers a variety of room categories and amenities, and for planning your honeymoon, we can help guide you on what your best decisions might be (and our expertise doesn't cost you anymore!).

Couples seeking the utmost in luxury can consider exclusive private islands like Peter Island, Young Island and Palm Island. For those looking for more of a party ambience, larger resorts on Jamaica, St. Lucia, Aruba and other islands may be calling out to you. The important thing is to get the right combination of island and resort to fulfill your dreams.

JamaicaUpon arriving here in 1494, Columbus described Jamaica as "the fairest island that eyes have beheld; mountains and the land seem to touch the sky... all full of valleys and field and plains." Jamaica offers a variety of underground caves and offshore reefs, and safe, naturally filtered drinking water. Some 150 rivers, numerous waterfalls and an abundance of trees and flowering plants are found on the island. The high eastern mountains feature misty pine trees, while the south resembles the African savannah, with alternating black and white sand beaches as well as mineral springs. Popular activies include a lazy float down the Rio Grande river on a bamboo raft for two, to Reach Falls, where couples climb and swim through a series of pools.

Today, largely due to the number of all-inclusive resorts found here, Jamaica attracts about a third of all Caribbeean-bound honeymooners. The level of luxury and services available at the all-inclusives has improved over the years, and honeymoon couples can enjoy butler service, private plunge pools and swim-in suites in the higher categories of accommodations.

Getting married here is easy, too. You need to be on the island for at least 24 hours to exchange vows. In most cases only a proof of citizenship is required for documentation.

The Bahamas
The Bahamas are known for clear water and pink sand or sugary white beaches.  The main islands are Grand Bahama, home to Freeport and Lucaya, and New Providence, home to Nassau and the resort areas of Cable Beach and Paradise Island, and home of the mega-resort, Atlantis. For those seeking something more exclusive, romantic and secluded, there's One & Only Ocean Club and Four Seasons Exuma.

St. Lucia This island is up and coming, offering steep volcanic peeks associated with the South Seas, and top-notch boutique resorts in addition to a few larger all-inclusive resorts that have opened up more recently.

Grand CaymanGrand Cayman's popularity is increasing with the opening of a Ritz-Carlton in 2007, and a Hyatt previously. Divers are attracted to Grand Cayman's steep coral reefs.

Of course, the islands above are just a partial glimpse. There's also the U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Aruba, and the British flavors of Bermuda and Barbados! Each Caribbean island has something different to offer, and one may be the right choice for your Caribbean honeymoon. Our honeymoon experts can help arrange your best options.
