Event & Locations Confirmation
Special event function space may be confirmed up to twelve months in advance. All dates must receive final approval from the Resort's sales and marketing department and are considered definite upon the receipt of the deposit and a signed contract.
Hours of Scheduled Functions
We only feature one wedding a day for a maximum of six hours. If a client requires the use of the space outside of this time frame, the request must be approved by the Resort. A $600 overtime hourly labor charge will be charged or a portion thereof up until 1:00 AM.
Deposit Schedule
To confirm your Montage event, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the minimum estimated charges is due within 14 days of signing the contract.
Another payment of 50% of the minimum estimated charges is due 90 days prior to the event.
Full payment of the estimated charges is due 30 days prior to the event if paid by personal check.
The final payment is due 14 business days before the function if paid by a cashier’s check or credit card.
This deposit will not be refunded if all or part of the event is cancelled. (Please see following deposit schedule.)

Special Event Minimum Requirements
For an event Monday through Thursday, the food and beverage minimum is $12,500 accommodating for 50 guests.
Should your guest list exceed 50 guests, the food and beverage minimum for each additional guest is $250 per person.
The minimum for a Friday is $20,000, allowing for 80 guests.
Should your guest list exceed 75 guests, the food and beverage minimum for each additional guest is $250 per person.
The minimum for a Sunday is $30,000 accommodating for 120 guests.
Should your guest list exceed 120 guests, the food and beverage minimum for each additional guest is $250 per person.
The minimum for a Saturday is $50,000, allowing for 200 guests.
Should your guest list exceed 200 guests, the food and beverage minimum for each additional guest is $250 per person.
These event minimums do not include a 22% taxable service fee and 7.75% tax.
If your actual guest count is less than the established minimum guest count, then the established overall food and beverage minimum fee applies. (Please see following)
Friday Food and Beverage Minimum $20,000 serving up to 80 guests
Saturday Food and Beverage Minimum $50,000 serving up to 200 guest
Sunday Food and Beverage Minimum $30,000 serving up to 120 guests

Food and Beverage Provisions
Montage Laguna Beach is the sole purveyor of all food and beverages for on-site events. The State of California Liquor Commission regulates the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, and Montage must adhere to these regulations. It is Montage's policy that all alcoholic beverages are provided by the Resort only. California law mandates that there is no smoking in any area of service, but an outdoor smoking area can be provided. Dietary substitutions are available upon request.
Special Occasion Cakes
Montage's pastry team can design and prepare a cake to your specification. Determined by your cake's design, cake pricing ranges from $8.00 to $18.00 per person. If you choose to supply your own cake, a $5.00 per person cake cutting fee will be incurred.
Miscellaneous Fees

Chef Attendant/Carver $150.00 per chef
Heaters $95.00 each
Guarantees
Please provide your Catering Manager with the final guest count by noon, three business days before your event. If a final number is not given, the estimated attendance on the contract automatically becomes the guarantee. You will then be charged the guaranteed number or the number actually served -- whichever is greater. If requested, the Resort will prepare up to 5% over the guarantee. Diagrams will be created for your event and completed table assignments are to be submitted with your final guarantee.
Wedding Ceremonies
Montage Laguna Beach features a distinctive ocean view setting, which is ideal for wedding ceremonies. A lush rolling green lawn with sweeping views of the Pacific, the Pacific and Ocean Lawns venue sits 50 feet above the ocean. The lawn rental fee is $7,000 and can seat up to 450 guests. The Ceremony Site offers white garden chairs, a standing microphone for the Officiant, and a standing microphone for a Vocalist or Readers.
Photography
Ocean Panoramas abound, but to ensure the privacy and enjoyment of all our guests, Montage Laguna Beach does not allow photography in the Main Lobby, Porte Cochere, Mosaic and Spa Pool Decks or the Hotel’s Restaurants.
Entertainment
At Montage Laguna Beach, we hope that your event is a truly joyous and memorable occasion. So that we may provide this courtesy to all of our guests, we ask that all outdoor entertainment be non-amplified. In addition, hotel staff may need to lower the volume of indoor amplified music if it adversely affects other guests or functions. All outside entertainment must end at 10:00 p.m., and indoor entertainment by 1:00 a.m.
Décor
Each banquet room is equipped with beautifully upholstered scallop back chairs and a combination of 66” Round, 72” Round and 5’ Square tables are also available. Tables are dressed with either Antique Gold or White Parchment Brocade Linen underlay, White Frette Linen Overlay and White Frette Linen Napkins. Each setting consists of a lovely Gold Beaded Baseplate, fine Baucher China, Crystal Spiegelau Stemware, Christofle Silverware, plus three Votive candles per table. Also provided is a teak wood dance floor, risers for the band and a 48” Round Cake Table.
Wedding Coordinator
A Professional/Certified Wedding Coordinator will be required to assist you with your wedding arrangements, ceremony, rehearsal and reception. Montage Laguna Beach must approve coordinator and will require proof of qualification. The Wedding Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of your Wedding Rehearsal and Coordinate all aspects of your Wedding Ceremony. Wedding Coordinators may also assist with the coordination of your vendors, however this is not required. Your Catering Manager can provide you with the names of our recommended coordinators. You are required to employ a wedding coordinator for at least 1 month of service. Your Wedding Coordinator is required to attend your wedding menu tasting. Tastings usually occur between 2 – 4 months prior to your wedding.
Audio Visual
A comprehensive selection of state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment is offered through our in-house partner, Five-Star Audio-Visual. From pin spot lighting on the floral centerpieces to color washes for depth and drama to full-scale video presentations -- Five-Star Audio-Visual has the expertise and necessary equipment to meet your every need. 949-715-6277.
Parking
A private valet entrance at the Courtyard Porte Cochere will be provided for you and your guests at $20.00 per car. If you to offer hosted valet parking for your guests, we will extend a special $5.00 rate per car. Valet Parking is suggested, as the alternative is metered parking which is available until 12:00 midnight, after which The City of Laguna will ticket. Overnight Valet Parking is $30.00 per car.
Guest Accommodations
Montage Laguna Beach is a very popular weekend destination. So that your guests may make reservations well in advance, we highly recommend that you send a “save the date” card or letter to your guests. If you wish to reserve a block of rooms, please contact your Catering Manager as soon as possible. Please note that a two-night or three-night minimum is required when incorporating a weekend stay, and that reservations should be made 60 days prior to arrival date. Room reservations made within 60 days of arrival will be at the current rack rate and based on availability. Our check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 12:00 noon.
