The Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa will make your dream wedding a reality! You may choose the Wailea Seaside Chapel, the Chapel Gardens, the Gazebos or the Waterfall for your ceremony.
Appearing to float on water, the Wailea Seaside Chapel was built to symbolize two themes the Resort cherishes: preservation of the Hawaiian culture and providing the finest quality products and services to our guests.
The attention to detail in the New England-style chapel is exquisite. The beautiful red oak floors and the sepal mahogany walls add to the dignified, enchanting atmosphere and hint at the wonders you will find inside.
Three chandeliers of 17th century design hang majestically from the vaulted ceiling. Made to order by the world famous Murano Glass Works, you will notice a light green glow on the delicate edges. Handmade in Venice, Italy these chandeliers are indeed great works of art.
The traditional lifestyle of the Hawaiian people is depicted on the four stained glass murals by local artist Yvonne Cheng. The mountains, ocean and rainbows combine with plants and flowers to illuminate the Chapel with a startling array of color. The murals, entitled “Beginnings”, symbolize the start of a new life together for the bride and groom.

The Lei Aloha Celebration… “Lei of Love”

Declare your love for each other in our charming Wailea Seaside Chapel. The Chapel bells will ring joyously, announcing your marriage. Appearing to float on water, the Wailea Seaside Chapel was built to symbolize two themes the Resort cherishes: preservation of the Hawaiian culture and providing the finest quality products and services to our guests.
The happy couple can be surrounded by a colorful assortment of tropical flowers, creating a “Circle of Love.” Overlooking the Pacific Ocean with spectacular views of our neighboring islands, Molokini, Kaho’olawe and Lanai, and the stunning West Maui Mountains, the setting is truly Paradise, especially at sunset.
After the ceremony, celebrate with a wedding cake and a champagne toast in one of our picturesque gazebos at the Chapel Gardens, surrounded by tropical flowers and trees.

The Candlelight Celebration…”Complete Elegance”

Couples can choose to be married within the glow of Candlelight set throughout the Wailea Seaside Chapel. The Candlelight Celebration will have your wedding pictures taken before the ceremony, allowing you to capture the magic of sunset. Entering the Chapel at dusk creates an elegant setting, with a classical harp to serenade you throughout the ceremony.

This Celebration will include:

• Use of the Wailea Seaside Chapel and Chapel Gardens for 1 ½ hours for your Ceremony
• A Member of the Clergy to perform your Ceremony
• An elegant hand-tied Bouquet of classic roses and tropical flowers for the Bride
• A coordinating Maile Lei with Orchids for the Groom An altar arrangement of forty candles create a romantic glow. The aisle is a glow with luminary style pillar candles and a flower petal scatter that will guide you to the altar
• A Solo Classical Harpist to play your selection of songs for the service

After the ceremony, celebrate with a romantic brunch for two in one of our picturesque gazebos at the Chapel Gardens, surrounded by tropical flowers and trees.

This Celebration includes:

• Use of the Wailea Seaside Chapel and Chapel Gardens for 1 ½ hours for your Ceremony
• A Member of the Clergy to perform your Ceremony
• Two Hawaiian White Orchid Wedding Leis for a Lei Exchange and a Tropical Floral Bouquet for the Bride

OBTAINING A LEGAL MARRIAGE LICENSE IN HAWAII

The marriage license must be obtained in the state where you are married and therefore the license must be applied for in Hawaii. Appointments should be made for the day after you arrive on Maui. Please contact the license bureau directly or request that your Wedding Specialist make an appointment for you.

Requirements are as follows:

• The couple must see the agent together
• Each must present a current photo identification or passport
• Payment is $65.00 (Cash Only)

Reception Fees and Guidelines

The Grand Wailea's private event space is in very high demand, therefore locations for your reception is subject to availability. Please check with your Wedding Specialist to determine available locations. Since you are considering a reception here, Grand Wailea Weddings wants to make you aware of our reception/private events policies as noted below.

Applicable Private Events Fees:

• There is a minimum $500-$10,000 site fee and a $100 in house linen-rental fee for every private event.
• Bartender Fees: $165 per bartender, per hour. Bartender fee will be waived if beverage revenue per bar, per hour meets or exceeds $500.
• Cashier Fees for cash bars are $135 per hour, per cashier.
• Chef to Prepare ~ menu items are $190 per hour, per chef.
• Attendant to Prepare to Order ~ menu items are $135 per hour, per attendant.
• Gratuity on all food and beverage items is currently charged at 22% and is subject to change without notice.
• If a function extends more than one-half hour past the contracted end time, there will be a fee of $250 per one-half hour thereafter.
• In-house chair covers (used for indoor functions only) are spandex and are available in black and white at $10.00 per chair cover.
• Chair bands to compliment spandex chair covers (used for indoor functions only) are available, please ask your Wedding Specialist for an estimate.
• Services are available to assist on putting out your place cards, centerpieces and party favors etc… beginning at $125.00. Ask your Wedding Specialist for an estimate of services based on your needs.

Applicable Private Event Guidelines
The Grand Dining Room, Lagoon and Chapel Overlook areas, which are adjacent to the kitchen, are available to offer plated meals or buffets to be served. Any other of our outdoor locations are only available for buffet service. These guidelines are to insure the guests’ experience with their event is not compromised.
Maui Liquor Laws dictate that we cannot allow guests to bring outside alcoholic beverages onto our property. Unfortunately, there is no option for a corkage fee. Also, for inside events with alcohol present, all minors must vacate the function by 10:00 pm.
Maui Fire Codes dictate that no open flames are permitted indoors. However, battery operated votives are permitted and put out a lovely glow. Please ask your Wedding Specialist for pricing.
In order to protect and maintain our property grounds, we are not able to permit outdoor dance floors in some areas.
All outdoor beverage containers are plastic, due to the high risk of injury to our many guests who walk barefoot throughout the property.
Seating for outdoor functions is always white, stackable resin party chairs. If desired, other chairs may be rented from an outside vendor for an additional rental fee.
In order to be considerate of all of our guests, we are not able to permit amplified music, including disc jockeys, in the Chapel or Lagoon Overlook areas.
Maui Noise Ordinance dictates that all outdoor functions must end by 10:00 p.m.
Because we do not want to disturb our guests’ experience, Karaoke is not allowed as entertainment at outdoor functions.
Every outdoor function will be booked with an available indoor weather backup area.
