Ocean’s Edge Gazebo

As its name suggests, this Gazebo overlooks the ocean with an amphitheatre style setting. Guests are seated on tiered levels of wooden decking, and the bride will make a magnificent entrance from the staircase above to the white wedding gazebo below. The Caribbean Sea serves as a spectacular backdrop to this picture perfect setting.

Beach Gazebo

This Gazebo offers the best of both worlds - a wedding on the beach with a charming gazebo for your bridal party and a beautiful white sand beach with seating for your wedding guests. The cool breezes of the Caribbean Sea anoint your guests as they attend your beachside wedding.

Powdery white sand provides a true beach setting for both the bridal couple and wedding guests with the Caribbean Sea and the hills of St. John offering a picture post card setting for exchanging your vows.

About Cruise Beginnings…Lady Lynsey accommodates 49 persons only with crew of 5 persons. Package covers 30 persons. There is an additional charge of $80.00 per person from 30 – 49 persons and a 22% Service Charge. Please note that your guests board from our beach.

Hotel Policies

Food and Beverage

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas is happy to design a special menu for your wedding. Our executive chef is delighted to work with you to create the perfect menu for your perfect day. Please let us know if any of your guests have special dietary requirements, and we are happy to assist. A 22% Service Charge will be added to all food and beverage charges. Clients or attendees can bring no food or beverages of any kind into the Hotel.
The menu and all other details of your event are to be finalized a minimum of three weeks prior to the date of your event.
Request for Multiple Entrees
There is a surcharge for multiple entrees for a catered menu, and your event manager will be happy to assist with pricing.

Guarantees

The Hotel requires the final guarantee of attendance be communicated to the catering office no later than 12:00PM, three business days prior to your event. If the guaranteed number is not provided, the billing will be for the greater of the following: (1) The number of persons for which the party was originally booked or (2) The number of persons in attendance.

Food and Beverage Minimums

The room designated for your event(s) requires a minimum attendance guarantee, and a food and beverage revenue minimum exclusive of service charge. Your Catering Sales Manager will be happy to provide specific details.

Floral Arrangements, Photography, Entertainment, Audio-Visual

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas provides the finest in services for our guests, and your event manager will be happy to assist you with arrangements for all your floral arrangements, photography, video and entertainment needs. In the interest of maintaining the level of service you have come to expect from The Ritz-Carlton, outside vendors are subject to the approval of the Hotel and subject to the policies of the Hotel including liability insurance.

Outdoor Venues for Receptions and Dinners

All outdoor venues with the exception of Mangrove Lawn and the Ballroom Terrace are not available prior to 7:00pm for private functions.
For all beach events, there is a minimum set-up fee of $1000.00 that may vary according to the size of the group and set-up required.

Lighting for Evening Events

All evening events at outdoor locations require a mandatory lighting package. This package is in addition to any site décor arranged for the event and is intended to provide adequate lighting for the safety of your guests. The package price is a minimum of $1200.00 and may vary according to the size of the group and location.

Outdoor Entertainment

All entertainment for outdoor venues must end by 10:00PM due to noise restrictions on property and out of courtesy to the other resort guests and our community.

Tenting

Tenting can be arranged for outdoor functions. Pricing for tents will vary depending on the size of your group—standard pricing ranges are $1000 - $3000. Pricing options include a full-canopy tent with roll down sides, chandelier lighting package, power drop, installation and dismantling. Your event manager can provide specific pricing based on the size of your group and the logistics of your event.

Weather Calls

The genuine care and comfort of your attendees—our guests—is of the utmost importance to the resort. For outdoor functions, forecasted weather conditions are always considered before the set-up of your event. The decision to move an event indoors due to weather conditions is at the complete discretion of the resort.

Getting Married in the U.S. Virgin Islands

As a U.S. territory, Virgin Island weddings are valid and binding the same as if married in the continental U.S. Prior to the Ceremony
Bridal Couples to be married in the U.S. Virgin Islands must obtain a U.S. Virgin Islands marriage license. By law, the wedding ceremony must be performed in the jurisdiction in which the marriage license is issued. There are no residence or citizenship requirements and no blood test or physical is required.
There is no waiting period for either of you to be on the island, but the marriage license paperwork must be in the Courthouse on St. Thomas at least 8 working days prior to your arrival in the Territory. The couple must personally appear at the courthouse to pick up their license at which time the couple must show a photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
If you have been previously married, a Certified Divorce Decree in English (with a raised seal or stamped certified copy-not just a notarized copy) signed by the judge from the court in which you were divorced must be sent. The divorce must be final 30 days prior to the application date.
If either party is widowed, a certified copy of your deceased spouse’s death certificate must be sent. The certificate must show a raised seal or stamp. ―Certified means from the Department of Vital Statistics in the state where the death occurred – not notarized. It must be the original certified copy.

Applying for a Marriage License

There are two (2) forms necessary: The ―Application for a U.S. Virgin Islands Marriage License and the ―License and Certificate of Marriage.

Upon Arrival

Once you arrive on St. Thomas a quick trip to the courthouse is required to pick up your marriage license in person. You will need to bring your photo ID for your appearance before the Clerk of the Court (Driver's License or passport). Both bride and groom are required to appear.
The Superior Court is open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 10:00am to noon and Sunday 9:30am to 11:00am. Holidays – Please note that in addition to the holidays celebrated in the U.S. and U.S. territories, there are a few additional holidays celebrated in the U.S. Virgin Islands, so please check with your event manager in advance to verify that the Court will be open.

After the Ceremony

*You will receive a certified copy of your marriage license following your ceremony. In most instances, certified copies may be obtained by the Court Concierge prior to your departure, depending on your length of stay. If not, the document will be mailed directly to your home.

No Passport Required

Having your family and friends with you for such an important occasion is so important to a bridal couple, and that is why The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas is an ideal destination. As a U.S. territory, a passport is not required for U.S. citizens; however, please keep in mind that all persons leaving the U.S. Virgin Islands, whether American citizens or not, must be prepared to show proof of citizenship upon leaving the islands to return to the mainland.
